Obtaining a long-term or permanent residency in the US can be challenging without proper knowledge of the necessary steps. For individuals who are permanent residents, citizenship candidates, or on a work visa, it is imperative to acquire an authorized immigration physical that meets the standards set by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Physicians Immediate Care offers certified providers who can conduct immigration physicals for patients. We highly recommend inquiring about the requirements and necessary documents to expedite your examination.
Our goal is to complete the application the day you come for a visit if possible. Most patients can have an appointment within 30 days or less of contacting us.
Before your immigration physical, newly arrived immigrants and permanent residents must present government approved photo identification, completed lab tests, vaccination records and other medical records as requested.
To properly prepare for your physical condition, we advise contacting your neighborhood Physicians Immediate Care facility. The absence of the aforementioned items may cause your immigration exam to be delayed.
Valid photo identification from the government
Vaccination History
completion of the required laboratory tests 2 weeks before your visit
additional current medical records, including those pertaining to medications and past illnesses (as requested by PICC)
What do providers look for during an immigration physical?
The primary objective of an immigration physical examination is to verify the health status of new residents and citizens entering the country.
During this assessment, patients are thoroughly examined for various health conditions, including communicable diseases and other factors that may affect their quality of life as a new resident.
At Physicians Immediate Care, providers are USCIS-certified who can perform your entire immigration physical often without any extra referrals or oversight. Per the USCIS guidelines, immigration physicals cover the following:
Please make sure you bring any requested medical records to help apply for waivers, exemptions, and other necessary medical information. Unlike other urgent care centers, we provide an affordable and efficient immigration physical that makes it easier to live in the U.S.
